I$AAC Presents…

Over the last couple years, you may have noticed Oaklands’ local music scene becoming more and more of a massive dance party, with genres across the board using bits of technology to turn your regular ol’ singer songwriter or Emcee into an electro pop sensation. I for one, love this, however musicians have to be careful not to jump on the train too late and get lost in a sea of ‘same shit, different name’ that eventually nestles in once the mainstream has caught on. However, in the midst of it all, sometimes you find someone that stands out & deserves an honorable mention. Amongst a ton of hip hop that comes pouring in from around the bay, I happen to stumble across I$AAC, a singer, producer and emcee from Berkeley, CA. Raised by a father that was an activist and protestor that has spent his life fighting to keep disadvantaged people fed and housed, I$AAC came to the hip hop scene with a message of positivity and hopes of changing the way people so often perceive one another; hoping to relay that image isn’t everything, it’s about how the music makes you feel, if it makes you happy. Making music since he could barely walk, I$AAC has always known where his true passion lie, and has spent many years developing his style which he calls, Turf Pop, at once both danceable, as well as being the perfect background music for blazing a phat blunt. Don’t believe me? Check out his most recent album, ‘Just For Thrills’ a Bay Area Mixtape, which features local emcee Balliztik from Nickel and Dime Entertainment, and is available at Amoeba Records and Ear Peace Records as of July 2013, or online at Reverbnation. You can also follow him on twitter at @weedxdrank and on soundcloud for upcoming new tracks.
